The 22nd winner of the ‘Small Things Make a Big Difference’ competition is Liesa Harris. Congratulations! Here’s Liesa’s idea for those whose minds need a bit of refreshing:

Look local

Most of us dream of exotic holidays in faraway overseas destinations. Of course there is nothing wrong with wanting to see the world – but don’t forget that our country is one of the most beautiful and naturally diverse areas of the planet!

Before booking a long distance flight for your annual end-of-year getaway to another continent, why not consider escaping somewhere closer to home? You significantly reduce your carbon footprint for 2010 and save a lot of money at the same time.

The Small Things prize consists of a copy of Simon Gear’s book Going Green as well as a T-shirt designed exclusively for dontbeapassenger by Mingo Lamberti.

Keep those green ideas coming and you could be the winner of the next giveaway! CONGRATULATIONS once again to Liesa for sharing her winning idea!

Have you travelled to one of Africa’s lesser-known destinations? Leave a comment and tell us about your experience!
